A Boy in France

A blog about life......... in france

England and my birthday

Hello everybody,

the last couple of week have been pretty hectic and i have just found the time to sit down and do a blog.

Sybilla , Dad and I all took the eurostar to london together to meet mum, who was already there for a conference.

By the time we arrived at Kings Cross station it was already about 9 ovlack at night an we boarded yet another train to travel to the hotel we were staying at in South Kensington - Earls Court - The hotel was great and they had SKY tv which for me was a bit thrill, so as we waited for mum to arrive home from the conference we watched some socer on th tv.

While we were in London we did lot of things but one of my favourites was going to see the play - Matilda -  the music had actually been composed by one of my favourite comedy writers - Tim Michichin -

It was an amazing play and it was fanastic to see kids of such a young age dancing and singing around the stage.

When we arrived back in Paris it was time for my birthday, The days leading up to it had been beautiful weather and to my pleasant surprise altough it was still hot it was distinctly gloomier for my birthday.

In the morning we ate Pan De Almond and in the evening i had one of the famous fred’s cakes, it was a amazing day!

And alas i must be off as tomorrow is a public holiday and we are going to Versaille for the day, should be great!

goodbye,

Jem

Ireland

Hello everyone,

I have just had my 2nd day back at eabjm….. *yay*

But before i talk about school i will tell you about the last stint of my holidays in Dublin, Ireland.

Technically the reason we went there is to see my sisters friend and her family but the rest of us were also quite pleased at the chance to hang around Dublin and see some world renown attractions.

As we landed in Dublin Airport it was naturally raining and quoting mum - “You would not want it to be any other way” We took the quick ride to our host’s house in SandyMount and were immediately  struck with how much space there was, a lush green garden lots of room and uncrowded streets, we were all surprised with how much it reminded us of home.

As i cruised the streets with niamh and her friends, sybilla and tara played until their hearts were content.

We also visited New grange ( sight of a 5000 year old prehistoric tomb)  PowersCourt Estate and Glendalough ( monastic settlement from the 5th  century AD which was started by st. Kevin). All amazing an very interesting places to visit and i highly reccomend visiting them if you go to Ireland.

And now i am back to school, receiving my Compo grades and generally missing the holidays…

I hope everyone is well!

Jem

Im On Holidays! :)

Hello everyone.

Today is monday and on saturday we got back from our lovely holiday in Provence. The house we stayed in was big and we all had our own room, I named mine the “Man Cave”.

The week in Provence was a brilliant change of atmosphere from the ever busy Paris. Every morning  Sybilla, Dad and I would go and have a swim in the pool from which you could see the nearby village, and although each morning i was hesitant to jump in as soon as i felt the water i was glad i had.

The nearby village Fayence proved to be very interesting and have some amazing restaurants aswell. Mum was very proud of me as i continued on my culinary journey and had my first ever aioli it was very good but i started to regret it a couple of hours later when i had to avoid civilization due to my horrendous smelling breath.

Another one of my favorite meals was 11 euro moules et frites - mussles and chips. It was served in a massive pot with a side plate for all you shells . Mum tried to resist the temptation to taste them but eventually her love of food got the better of her and she finished off the last few of mine.

Now i am back in Paris and our Australian friends are here  yesterday we shared our knowledge of Paris and took them for a walk around the Marais as well as a lovely lunch at our favorite  restaurant Au Pied De Cochon.

Tomorrow Dad,Sybilla, Madeline and I are all going to DisneyLand which should be alot of fun.

Hope everyone is well

Jem.
